This traditional song has helped many people to persevere
in their vocation. The original Spanish version was composed
by Fr. Tomas Pujadas, CMF. It is No.15 of the 27 Songs contained

This song echoes the famous motto:"Caritas Cristi
Urget Nos". Claret, following Paul the apostle "ad
gentes", was moved always by the love of Christ. It
is also the love of Christ that impels today all Claretian
missionaries to dedicate themselve to the prophetic service
of the Word of God with all possible means.

This song describe how Claretians look at Christ. It could
be considered a summary of the Claretian christology. Lyrics
have been inspired by different texts of the constitutions
and commentaries prepared recently by our experts in Claretian

Martyrs of the Church of Jesus

It is the official Hymn to "The first Martyr Seminary
in the history of the Church", as described by the
Observatore Romano, after their Beatification ceremony in
Rome, on October 25, 1992. The whole Claretian seminary
community of Barbastro, Spain, recived the gift of mrtyrdom
with exemplary courage and faith.

5.-Martyrs
of Barbastro

Lyrics: Pedro Casaldaliga, CMF
51 Young Claretians were not afraid of losing their lives
for the sake of Christ and his Reign. They died for their
faith and missionary vocation during the religious persecution
of 1936 in Barbastro, Spain. They were beatified by Pope
John Paul II on October 25, 1992. Pedro Casaldaliga, a Claretian
bishop in Brazil, proclaims in this song their courage and
commitment.
