Magna Cum Laude).
One
more Claretian scholastic, Mauricio T. Ulep, CMF,
joined other graduates at Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo
de Manila University on March 17, 2004 for the graduation
rites.
A baccalaureate mass was offered for the graduates at the
Ignatius Oratory at 9:00 am. Most Rev. Gaudencio B. Rosales,
DD, Archbishop of Manila, presided over the Eucharist . In
the homily, Fr. Miguel Lambino, SJ exhorted the graduates
to be good bearers of tradition.
The Commencement Exercises followed at the Cardinal Sin Center
where Rev. Roberto Carampatan, SJ gave his valedictory address
which was notably heart-moving. Archbishop Rosales, on the
other hand, delivered his commencement address focused on
faith transformed into burning charity towards the poor. The
Archbishop challenged the graduates to be active agents in
democratizing love for the poor.
The awarding of diplomas followed the Archbishop's address
where Mauricio T. Ulep, CMF was awarded STB (Bachelor in Sacred
Theology) with honors (magna cum laude).
The event was witnessed by the entire LST administration,
faculty members and personnel and several religious communities,
families, relatives and friends. The Claretians were also
present to give support to the Claretian graduate. Among
the guests of Bro. Ulep were his mother and aunties. The celebration
ended with a lunch wherein people continued to exchange pleasantries.
The entire occasion was indeed a grace-filled moment recognizing
that God has been actively journeying with the graduates throughout
their four years of theological studies at Loyola School of
Theology.
