AUDIENCE WITH THE HOLY FATHER

Castelgandolfo On 8 September, at noon, John Paul II received the Chapter delegates who had come from Rome at his summer residence at Castelgandolfo. Superior General, Fr. Josep Abella, greeted him in the name of the entire Congregation represented there: “We come to express the deep sense of communion with the Church that we have inherited from our Founder, St. Anthony Mary Claret, and to show our affection and adherence to the Pope and our willingness to collaborate in the carrying out of Jesus’ command to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world.” “We want to play an active role in building that ‘civilization of love’ to which Your Holiness refers so many times.”

The Holy Father, with clear signs of physical fatigue, addressed greetings and a message to the Congregation and bestowed his apostolic Blessing on all who share our missionary charism and our collaborators. More Pictures
